Ryan Sinke of CanAmerican Stone Spreader was looking for some help to improve their performance in the delivery of their stone spreader trucks. In talks with Mike Bowman at Seaway Fluid Power (SFP),Sinke found a solution to improve the hydraulic hose related aspects of their production. The solution was the development of preassembled hose kits by SFP that reduced waste, ordering mistakes and crimper breakdowns, helping to improve CanAmerican’s product delivery and customer service performance.
Seaway Fluid Power (SFP) is a trusted supplier for CanAmerican. This trust is based on their desire to help resolve customer issues and their proven skill and experience in the hydraulic hose industry.
Identifying that starting from scratch for each CanAmerican order made little sense for their customer, Bowman worked with Sinke to develop standard hose kits and ID tags specific to theirparticular product specifications. Now, CanAmerican can order preassembled kits from SFP. The kits are created by SFP who include descriptions of the contents, tag the individual hose lines and brand the hose sleeving for CanAmerican. SFP then ships the order the same day it is received.
So, has this new way of doing things helped CanAmerican?According to Ryan, it has. Ryan estimates that ten hours per week have been saved from ordering and sorting the products received. Also, Ryan has seen improvement in their ability to service their customer’s hydraulic hose issues. As Ryan says” small things make the biggest difference when it comes to customer satisfaction.”
